The final Gossow album (that I own) and probably the one I listened to the most.  I burned a copy and played it in my car nearly constantly.  The songs all had this weird beeping noise underneath.  When I finally bought a legit copy years later it was weird missing that.

Blood on your Hands - Not messing around this time just all power jumping right in.  They stripped back the effects on Gossows vocals and they really shine here.  One of their best songs

The Last Enemy - Massive chorus on this one.  Verses are pummeling.  Solo is also fun.  Very shreddy, almost Megadeth-esque then a bunch of tapping.  The little slow break is great too

I Will Live Again - A much needed change of pace.  The electronic elements here work well.  Im not the biggest fan of this kind of verse (just a stripped down few notes) but it works well here.

In this Shallow Grave - I love the vocals on this one. Gossow gets that unhinged scream going occasionally and it really adds emotion to it.  Check out verse two for what I mean.

Revolution Begins - This was the leadoff single and it should be.  Excellent riffs.  Verses left to pretty much just Gossow, I like how the guitars slowly come back in.  And then the chorus is excellent.

Rise of the Tyrant - The sample at the start is okay.  I liked it in high-school but now its a bit cringe-y.  The song is blistering, full energy.  But overall a little bland

The Day You Died - One of the more emotional songs on the album.  The intro solo is full of feels.  Gossow gives it her all on this one.  Just feel those snarls in the verses.  Beautiful song.

Intermezzo Liberté - Instrumental.  Pretty standard for AE

Night Falls Fast - Another fast paced song with a decent chorus.  I love Gossow's "Night falls fast" screams.  But overall kind of bland and forgettable

The Great Darkness - Standard AE song here.  Great unhinged vocals from Gossow again.  I like the choral chants in the chorus, they're cool.  The solo is a much needed change of pace

Vultures - Just a cool solo-fest.  Nothing outstanding, I feel like the Amott brothers wanted to show off one more time.  But man those vocals are crazy

Overall a great album.  More polished than I'd like.  Melodeath has a tendency to get as clean and crisp as possible with their production and the music loses something with that.  This album isn't TOO bad, they definitely take it too far on Khaos Legions.  I don't own that one, its Gossow's last album so Ill get it some day.

5 green, no red, this album holds up much better than I remembered.  One of their best for sure

4/5
