I'm not sure what this band was doing in 2022.  They had 3 releases, February saw Live At the Royal Albert Hall (which was recorded in 2020 with no audience because of covid), March they put out this and in October they released a new studio album.

The even worse part is both live albums have essentially the same cover, this one is a run through of FTTWTE, Albert Hall has 2 songs from FTTWTE and a smattering of others from the the 3 prior.  I'm not even sure HOW they did FTTWTE songs on Albert Hall since that was recorded before the album was released.  They must have had the songs written already.

Either way, this one is FTTWTE played live, backed by an orchestra, which puts such a fun spin on the album.  Some of the songs shine much brighter.  Giving Blood, An Ordinary Extinction, Flight Without Feathers, and Meteor all are much more powerful here.

One of the problems with this is Sam's vocals aren't quite as good here as they are on thr album.  Some of the shouty-er parts suffer a little bit (see the chorus of Black Lungs).  Also, the orchestration doesn't fit great with all of the songs.  Discourse is Dead definitely feels shoehorned in.

Overall this manages to make some of the worse songs on FTTWTE better while making some of the best songs worse.  Its a fun experience, but I prefer the initial release.

This one feels like a natural progression of Foxtrot/Nursery Cryme.  They've kept a lot of the heaviness from Foxtrot and interspersed some of the stupid shit  whimsy from Nursery Cryme.  The start of I Know What I Like and the middle of Thr Battle of Epping Forest are great examples of that. The Autumn Effect Genre: Alternative Rock This one is a bit of a strange album.  The band self released their first 2 albums and then once signing a major record deal they decided to re-record a couple of songs off of Killing All That Holds You (their 2nd album) and write a bunch of new songs.  Not surprisingly the two songs off of Killing are Wasteland and Through the Iris, probably the best songs on the album. I bought this CD from Best Buy in like 2005 after hearing Wasteland on the radio.  It can get a little formulaic after a while but is still a great album.  4 green songs, no red songs.  I still listen to this one like once a year.
